Mark Freeman is a Registered U.S. Patent Attorney focusing on protecting intellectual property in the life, chemical and pharmaceutical sciences, but with considerable experience protecting copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and industrial and mechanical devices and methods.

During my almost two decades of patent law practice, I have helped individual inventors and entities ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies prepare and prosecute patent applications, win appellate and post-grant proceedings, develop efficient and effective patenting strategies, manage patent life-cycles, perform due diligence, gain confidence from legal opinions, negotiate and license technologies, progress through interferences, and achieve victory in litigation.

Prior to practicing law, and for more than ten years after receiving my Ph.D., I worked in the life sciences industry in R&D and in product and business development.  My experience spanned a variety of technologies including techniques, instruments and reagents used in molecular and cell biology, immunology, and protein and nucleic acid analysis, especially related to manual and automated DNA sequencing for the Human Genome Project, and to manual and automated chromatographic and electrophoretic protein and nucleic acid separations.
